MUSIC: Oscar and the Wolf

A quick post about my current favorite song. Every time I hear it I can't stop myself from dancing and singing along. You've probably heard the song before because if you haven't, you've been living underneath a rock. It's The Game from Oscar and the Wolf.

I've seen Max Colombie and his guys at Sportpaleis Antwerp earlier this year and it was such a magical performance. Max has this really special vibe and dreamy voice that makes you want to close your eyes and move on the music. Just close your eyes and enjoy.

FOOD: cheese bread

Today I've got something new for you guys. An article about... food! I love food. Everyone loves food. And I love fall. And fall means pumpkins and cheesebread. So I made some of both today! I'll be sharing the receipe for cheesebread today. The receipe for pumpkinsoup will be on the blog later this week.

Ingredients (for 10-12 little cheesebreads):

- Puff pastry (square shaped is the easiest, you can find those at the frozen food section)

- 60gr. butter

- 60gr. flower

- 250ml. vegetable stock

- 55ml. white wine (the alcohol will disappear when cooking)
- 200gr. young cheese
- 1 egg
- a bit coffeemilk
- peper & salt

Preparation:

First things first: measure all ingredients and get it out of the refrigerator.
Put a cookingpot on the stove with the butter. When it's heated and melted, you can add all the flour. You have to mix this until you get a 'roux'. This means all the butter and flour should turn into a batter. If that has happened, you can add the stock and white wine slowly. Stir until it's a runny batter.
This is the part where you add the cheese to the batter. Leave 50gram of cheese for later. Because of the heat, the cheese will melt and you will have the perfect batter! Put the batter in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
In the mean time, you can preheat the oven at 190 degrees Celsius.
After 15 minutes, spread the cheese batter over the pieces of pastry. Fold the puff pastry in half so you can cover the cheese batter and press all the sides together with a fork.
When this is done for all the pieces of pastry, you can now mix the egg and coffeemilk in a cup. Now you can 'paint' some egg-milk mixture on each entire piece. We do this because it makes sure the bread gets a lovely color and the cheese on top will stick on it.
Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the pastry and put in the oven for about 25 minutes!

The pastry is delicious when it's right out of the oven but because of the stock and wine, it's also really soft on the inside when it's cold. So it's delicious either ways!

P.s: I used a pie puff pastry so it had a round shape instead of a few squared ones. That's not a problem. You can easily divide the pie puff pastry into rectangles which works just as good. You even have a triangle now too!

Citytrip

TRAVEL: Rome '16

Hi guys!

Earlier this year my "little" niece turned 19 and therefore we decided to go on a little citytrip with a small part of the family. I went to Rome with my (youngest) niece and her mother (my youngest aunt), another (older) niece and her mother (my oldest aunt), my mother and me. It was a lovely trip and I thought it'd be fun if I showed you guys some pictures.

We went to Rome in march and even though I've been there about two years ago, I was still amazed by how wonderfull and relaxing the city is. We stroled around the city and ate lots of gelato. It was lovely. We've already decided we're going to Barcelona next year!
